We are pleased to announce a new certification for Protecta FR Pipe Wrap, bringing added versatility to your fire-stopping projects.

The latest certification allows pipe wraps to be cast or friction-fitted in rigid constructions. It also permits a gap of up to 10 mm around the pipe wrap, which can be filled with Protecta FR Acrylic.

This solution is ideal for scenarios like drains, where space constraints make it difficult to use other types of fire seals.

The new certification offers:

  • Extended installation possibilities for rigid walls and floors
  • Gap allowance up to 10 mm, sealed with Protecta FR Acrylic
  • Wide coverage of service penetrations and classifications
  • Ideal for space-restricted drain applications

Please note: Solutions with pipe wraps within Protecta FR Board and EX Mortar are now available only within those respective product certifications.

Protecta FR Pipe Wrap - Product Upgrade

WHAT IS PROTECTA FR PIPE WRAP

Protecta FR Pipe Wrap is designed to maintain the fire resistance of fire-separating walls and floors when breached by:

  • Plastic pipes
  • Conduits
  • Metal pipes with continuous combustible insulation

It can be installed in:

  • Drywalls
  • Masonry walls
  • Concrete walls and floors

Each wrap contains a graphite-based reactive intumescent strip that expands when exposed to heat, closing the opening left by melting or softening pipe material. The wrap is fitted completely around the pipe or insulation and secured with a self-adhesive tab.

For a complete seal, the annular gap around the wrap should be sealed with Protecta EX Mortar or Protecta FR Board (refer to the product-specific approvals for each application).

SOME BENEFITS

  • Classified for PVC-U, PVC-C, PE, LDPE, MDPE, HDPE, ABS, SAN+PVC and PP pipes
  • Suitable for all types of constructions
  • Excellent sound insulation
  • Fire classifications up to 240 minutes (integrity & insulation)
  • Emission free
  • 25-year working life guarantee

For correct fitting and sealing, always refer to the latest installation guide. This includes guidance on surface preparation, securing the wrap, sealing annular spaces, and ensuring compliance with EI classifications.
