The new upgrade is designed to help specifiers, installers, and contractors simplify fire-stopping in real-world conditions—especially where service types, substrates, and construction variables demand proven and documented solutions.
WHAT IS PROTECTA FR IPT?
Protecta FR IPT is a high-performance firestop sealant designed for multi-service penetrations in walls and floors. It is formulated for both horizontal and vertical applications and is suited for use with a wide range of services including plastic pipes, metal pipes, cables, and combustible insulation. FR IPT is also approved for use with the Protecta® FR Board to deliver fire resistance performance up to EI 240. It is CE Marked, ETA-approved, and classified under EN 13501-2.

WHAT’S NEW IN THIS UPGRADE
This latest update introduces several new tested configurations and enhancements, including:
- Timber studs in drywalls can now be used without any minimum distance from the fire seal.
- Iron pipes are now covered wherever steel pipes are mentioned.
- Hollow floor installation instructions are now included in the technical documentation.
- New approvals for steel pipes with sustained glass- or stone wool insulation in rigid walls.
- Cable bundles and conduits now approved in rigid floors.
- Improved performance for non-insulated steel, copper, and alupex pipes in rigid floors.
- Sustained and interrupted insulation for steel, copper, and alupex pipes in rigid floors.
These updates strengthen compliance across a broader range of on-site conditions and service combinations.
ENHANCED DRAWING REFERENCE SYSTEM
Alongside the new approvals, all technical drawings in the ETA and UKTA documentation now feature a unique reference number. Each reference is created using:
- The ETA number
- The relevant ETA/UKTA chapter
- A unique identifier for each drawing
This makes it easier for users to locate, share, and specify tested solutions with confidence and precision.
