Fire resistant sealants are used to reinstate the fire resistance of construction joints and annular spaces around single service penetrations (10-30mm wide), formed within fire compartment walls and floors. The sealant remains permanently flexible and offers elasticity for movement, whilst providing an effective barrier to fire, cold smoke, sound transmission and increases airtightness between rooms. In a fire, the sealant will intumesce or swell to form a charred barrier.
