Protecta FR Board may be used to provide a penetration seal with mixed services within the same seal or aperture. The aperture must be lined with 2 layers of 12.5mm gypsum boards (this is not necessary in rigid walls). Before installing Protecta FR Board, ensure all service penetrations and surrounding constructions are free from any loose contaminants, dust or grease.

Protecta EX Mortar is a dry white powder made from inorganic materials and perlite.

When mixed with water, it becomes a highly thermal-insulating compound designed to seal openings in fire-rated walls and floors. It effectively prevents the spread of fire and smoke around service penetrations, helping maintain fire compartmentation and building safety.

Products to be used in this installation are:
EX Mortar, FR Damper, FR Pipe Wrap and Stone wool shutter board. You will also need a trowel and a bucket of clean water

Services within the system Protecta FR Board seal do not require a minimum separation, except where Protecta FR Pipe Wraps are used, which should be a minimum of 30mm from other services in the aperture. Before installing Protecta FR Board, ensure all service penetrations and surrounding constructions are free from any loose contaminants, dust or grease.

Double Protecta FR Board system in drywall where apertures are not required to be lined or letterboxed. An aperture can include several services, and they may also be different. The minimum permitted separation between adjacent seals/apertures is 100 mm. Services should be a minimum of 25 mm from seal edges.
