Installation Video
The Protecta Partition Wall is built with FR Board, featuring a high-density stone wool core coated with Protecta FR Coating. The coating enhances fire performance by reducing permeability, blocking hot gases, and limiting heat transfer to the unexposed side. Quick and simple to install with timber studs, and in some cases it can be fitted without head and base tracks or outer studs.
Typical Applications
- Lofts and technical rooms
- Service voids and shafts
- Partition walls where minimal wall thickness is required
The board can be installed from one side and easily adapted on site. It resists moisture, UV radiation, and frost, and allows pipes and cables to be retrofitted if needed. In addition, it improves both sound insulation and airtightness.
How tall can the partition wall be built?
Up to 4 metres in height with unlimited length – as long as the installation instructions are followed.
What fire rating does the solution cover?
Up to EI 60, depending on the construction and connections. See the Technical datasheet and ETA 23/0496 for more details.
What types of pipes and cables are approved through the fire-rated board?
- Cables, cable trays & conduits
- Busbars
- Steel pipes & steel gas pipes
- Copper pipes
- Alupex pipes
- PVC, PE, and PP plastic pipes
- PEX pipes-in-pipes
- Polybutylene pipes
- Composite pipes
- Ventilation ducts
Do penetrations need to be supported?
Yes. Pipes and cable trays must be supported no more than 270mm from both sides of the fire-rated board. For interrupted cable trays, the maximum distance from the barrier is 150 mm.
Protecta Partition Wall has a European Technical Assessment – ETA 23/0496 issued under EU Regulation 305/2011, based on EAD 210005-00-0505
The product is tested according to EN 1364-1 (fire testing of non-loadbearing walls) with reference to EN 1363-1 (general fire resistance test methods)
All Protecta products are proudly developed and manufactured by Polyseam Ltd. To meet the demanding standards of modern construction, we continuously invest in rigorous testing and development in collaboration with leading laboratories.
The partition wall uses Protecta FR Board, documented with low environmental impact and long service life. The system is flexible and can be adapted to the building’s needs – but some components are not suitable for projects with the strictest indoor climate requirements.
- Minimum 25-year service life – reduces waste and replacements
- Boards and sealants contain no hazardous chemicals
- Flexible solution – allows for retrofit
- Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s) available – covers the full lifecycle from raw material to disposal
