- The service transit is identified by type: FR (walls and floors), FF (floors only) or FD (ducts), as specified in the installation instructions.
- Can be friction-fitted directly into the opening, cast into concrete, or installed in larger openings in combination with Protecta FR Acrylic, FR Board or EX Mortar.
- A central fibre plug reduces cold smoke leakage (not applicable to FD variant).
- Supplied in lengths of 150, 250 and 400 mm, adapted to the thickness of the construction.
- Expands at approx. 105 °C and effectively seals the opening in the event of fire.
- Can be installed in gypsum, masonry, concrete and solid timber constructions.
- After installation, cables and pipes can be rerouted or added without the need for new fire-stopping.

Protecta FR Service Transit is designed to maintain fire and smoke resistance in fire-rated walls and floors where cables, pipes and conduits pass through the construction. It is particularly suited to buildings where services may be added, removed or replaced over time, and in areas where traditional post-installed fire stopping would be difficult due to restricted access or limited working space.
The system consists of either a high temperature-resistant plastic sleeve or a steel sleeve containing graphite-based intumescent material. In fire conditions, the intumescent expands to seal around the penetrating service and close the opening, helping to prevent the passage of flames, smoke and heat through the compartment line.
Protecta FR Service Transit is available in three variants:
• FR – circular service transit for fire-rated walls and floors
• FF – floor version installed flush with the soffit and suitable for fixing to formwork before concrete casting
• FD – rectangular steel sleeve with cover, tested for plastic ducts
Typical applications include cable penetrations, cable bundles, conduits and pipe penetrations in walls and floors, particularly in technical rooms, shafts, refurbishment projects and buildings where future service changes are expected.
Which pipe types is FR Service Transit approved for?
Protecta FR Service Transit is tested and approved (depending on FR, FF or FD variant) with:

In which constructions is FR Service Transit tested?
Protecta FR Service Transit is fire tested in the following construction types:
- Concrete and masonry walls
- Gypsum walls
- Solid timber (CLT) walls
- Floors of concrete, masonry and solid timber
What fire resistance can be achieved?
From EI 30 up to EI 240, depending on the type of penetration, dimensions and construction type. Refer to the installation instructions for detailed approvals.
Can FR Service Transit be left empty?
Yes. FR Service Transit is tested both empty and with services installed, and can function as a reserve solution for future installations.
Must FR Service Transit be combined with other products?
Yes, in most solutions it is used together with Protecta FR Acrylic, FR Board or EX Mortar, depending on the opening and fire requirements. Refer to the installation instructions for details.
Protecta FR Service Transit has European Technical Assessment ETA 22/0734 issued under EU Regulation 305/2011, based on EAD 350454-00-1104.
The product is tested according to EN 1366-3, with reference to EN 1363-1.
